Anna and Katie's "Student Visionaries of the Year" Fundraiser
Hello! Our names are Anna and Katie Kolb. We attend Guerin Catholic and have started the first team from Guerin! When we were first asked to participate in leukemia lymphoma society, we were unsure. After speaking to our campaign managers and meeting our honored hero, Ben, we realized how special this organization and fundraiser is.
Our reason:
Our grandad was diagnosed with lung cancer, a battle that changed everything for our family. Watching him face this illness with such strength was inspiring, but it was also a tough journey. He went through numerous rounds of chemotherapy, enduring the physical and emotional toll that comes with such an intense treatment.
Our grandma was also diagnosed with breast cancer. She fought so hard, and this inspires us to fight for everybody who struggles with not only leukemia and lymphoma, but also other cancers, such as breast and so many others.
Chemotherapy is a difficult process, and while it gave them a fighting chance, the side effects were hard to bear. My granddad and grandma showed remarkable courage and resilience throughout the entire treatment. Despite everything, they remained positive, always focusing on his loved ones and cherishing every moment.
Unfortunately, not everyone has the same resources to face this battle, and that's where we come in. We're raising funds to help support those going through similar experiences, whether it's covering treatment costs, providing emotional support, or offering necessary care for those battling cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
Every donation, no matter how small, will help make a difference.
Visionaries look to the future—and see infinite possibility.
They challenge the status quo—and make the impossible possible.
They boldly imagine a better world – and lead the charge to create it.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was built on that same vision - of a better world - one without blood cancers.
We are visionaries; we have a vision for a world without cancer, but we need your help.
This year, we are proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission.
As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:
- Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
- Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
- Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.
Please consider joining this fight by making a donation. All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. Please visit our website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!
Thanks to your support, our efforts will help ensure this generation is the last to see cancer.
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you!
